Of Obama, Money and Celebrity Power
Even before Obama visited Hollywood, the welcome mat had already been placed, and cash was in hand to prove it. In the end, Obama's campaign carried an impressive $1.3 million in one night, and won the admiration of Hollywood's A-List. While money may not directly translate into votes, it rightly sends a positive message to voters. Fundraiser money tells the voter how much of an organiser a certain candidate is, and this has real implications on what kind of a president such a contender can be. In Obama, we see exponential contributions, and convincingly know that we have a leader who is able to get things right.
Few people in Hollywood are carried over by the politics of the day. But today, everyone in Hollywood is impressed by the Obama tale, everyone in Hollywood sees a sincere light for a better future for America's populace in Obama's eyes. So as Hollywood keeps those funds coming into the Obama campaign, we request that they keep the Obama gospel spreading too...and to do that when they are somber!
