Clinton's Camp Harshly Rebuked By Former Contributor

Today, former heavyweight campaign finance contributor and close friend of the Clintons--who once spent a night at the Lincoln bedroom in the White House at the invitation of then President Bill Clinton-- harshly dismissed them as liars who tell lies with "ease". Mr. David Geffen, an accomplished music mogul, shifted political camps and is now supporting IL. Senator Barack Obama's bid for the Democratic nomination...and eventually the Presidency. On the defensive, the Clinton camp issued a carefully worded statement urging the Obama crew to quickly cut ties with "vicious Greffen" and return any campaign money he recieved from Greffen. They also demanded that Obama denounce such personal attacks. In the statement, Howard Wolfson--Clinton's Chief Spokesman, said "While Senator Obama was denouncing slash and burn politics yesterday, his campaign's finance chair was viciously and personally attacking Senator Clinton and her husband. If Senator Obama is indeed sincere about his repeated claims to change the tone of our politics, he should immediately denounce these remarks, remove Mr. Geffen from his campaign and return his money. While Democrats should engage in a vigorous debate on the issues, there is no place in our party or our politics for the kind of personal insults made by Senator Obama's principal fundraiser."
