Obama Team Responds

Following a demand from the Clinton campaign team, the Obama train, through it's spokesman, Robert Gibbs, confirmed that it wasn't about to intervene in laundry issues between the Clintons and their former big contributor, David Geffen. Mr. Gibbs noted that the Clintons were at ease with music mogul Geffen when he was banking $18 million for their campaigns. The Obama camp also took issue with Hillary Clinton's acceptance of the support of South Carolina State Sen. Robert Ford, who just recently decried Obama's candidature as that of a spoiler because he's black, characterizing it as "ironic". Here's part of the message the Obama camp wrote to the Clinton Team: "We aren’t going to get in the middle of a disagreement between the Clintons and someone who was once one of their biggest supporters. It is ironic that the Clintons had no problem with David Geffen when was raising them $18 million and sleeping at their invitation in the Lincoln bedroom. It is also ironic that Senator Clinton lavished praise on Monday and is fully willing to accept today the support of South Carolina State Sen. Robert Ford, who said if Barack Obama were to win the nomination, he would drag down the rest of the Democratic Party because ’he's black.’" It's on, and we are on it.
