Al Gore Breaches Airport Security
Former U.S Vice-President, Al Gore, on Wednesday breached airport security when he was led, by an American Airlines employee, around security checks....a clear violation of airport security. The incident occurred at Nashville Airport when Al Gore and two individuals who accompanied him were escorted by Sgt. Gary Glover with airport police to the security area. Then Glover waited for Gore on the other end of the security check so Gore and his accomplices could go through the normal security screening, but then Al Gore and his two accomplices bypassed the metal detectors, a clear breach of airport security. "There are no exceptions. Everyone must go through security," airport spokesperson Lynn Lowrance said. However, Lowrance said an American Airlines employee led Gore and his entourage past the security checks.
The airline employee then led Gore to the elevator and then through a secure door where she had too run her security card three times in the electronic lock. It was then that airport police caught up with them and had Gore and his two accomplices go through an extensive security check. Airport police said none complained on being confronted.
It was not clear whether Al Gore requested the special treatment or he was offered it and accepted, whichever case a blatant violation of airport security policy. When contacted, Gore's office said Gore asked for no special treatment.
The American airlines employee, whom airport police said might just have been very accommodating, was later cited for breach of rules and required to retake airport security class.
